The Meriden Soup Kitchen welcomes new volunteers who are able to work from approximately 7:30 am to 10:00 am (kitchen) or approximately 8:30 am to 12:45 pm (serving area). The Soup Kitchen serves meals from 11:00 am to 12:30 pm, with the remainder of the time devoted to food cooking and preparation, serving preparation and cleanup. Cooking is done in the kitchen on the upper level while serving is done on the lower level.

Volunteers should be able to be present on a regular basis, either once weekly or once bi-weekly. Commitment to the Soup Kitchen mission, good hygiene, a desire to work, ability to work with others in a friendly atmosphere, and respect toward our clients are essential.

Volunteers are free to eat meals or individual food items while working, but are not permitted to remove any food items from the premises.
